I watched the documentary about this.

Turns out it's just rock shaped almost round like the star wars millenium falcon spaceship.

My guess is an ancient spot where two currents were passing each other and you get that spiral motion of the water?

Over time the water ate away at the rocks shaping them round?

Anyone else have a theory?
